What Happens to Your Deposit if the Tour is Full? Our Waitlist and Refund Process

2026.06.26·5 min read

Booking a tour can feel like a leap of faith, especially when you're planning ahead. A common question we get is, "What happens to my deposit if the tour is already full?" or "Can I get a refund if I'm on a waitlist?"

Let's clear up the confusion. This post explains exactly how our deposit, waitlist, and refund system works. The goal is simple: you should know your options and feel confident when you book with Parang Tour.

1. Understanding Our Booking System and Tour Capacity

First, it's important to know how we manage tour spots. We are a small group tour operator. This isn't just a slogan. It's the core of our experience. According to our tour pages, we operate with 4 to 12 people per group.

This limited size is intentional. It allows for a more personal, flexible, and comfortable journey compared to the large 45+ person bus tours that inspired our company. You can read more about that story on our About page.

Because groups are small, spots fill up quickly, especially for popular departure dates during peak seasons like spring (March to May) and fall (September to October). When you visit a tour page like our 2-night, 3-day Grand Canyon tour, you'll see a list of "모객중" dates. This means those specific departure dates are actively recruiting and have availability. Once a date reaches its maximum of 12 guests, the booking system will show it as "Full" or "Sold Out."

2. The Deposit and Payment Process

When you book a tour on our website, you are paying the full discounted tour price at the time of booking. For our 2-night, 3-day Grand Canyon tour, the current sale price is $391 per person. This is not a separate deposit. It is the full tour fee.

This payment secures your spot on the tour and covers the included services: vehicle and fuel costs, guide fees, safe pickup/drop-off in Koreatown or on the Las Vegas Strip, 1 night of canyon hotel accommodation, one hotel breakfast, one In-N-Out lunch, and bottled water.

IMPORTANT What is NOT included in the tour price?

Your tour payment does not cover entrance fees, tips, or your Las Vegas hotel night. These are paid in cash to your guide on-site. For the 2-night, 3-day tour, the total for these excluded items is a separate $235 per person. This covers the National Parks pass for non-residents ($70), Antelope Canyon fee and guide tip ($80 + $2), Horseshoe Bend ($5), Zion ($10), Grand Canyon ($10), and the U.S. guide tip ($60 for 3 days). We state this total clearly. Do not add these numbers to your initial tour payment.

3. What Happens if You Book and the Tour is Full?

Our website booking system is live and real-time. If you are able to complete a booking and receive a confirmation email, it means a spot was available and is now reserved for you. You are confirmed for the tour.

However, sometimes two people might be booking for the last spot simultaneously. In the rare event of an overbooking due to a system glitch, we will contact you immediately via the email you provided. You will be given two clear options:

  1. A full and immediate refund of your tour payment.
  2. Placement at the top of a priority waitlist for that specific date, with the option to transfer your booking to the next available departure date that fits your schedule.

We do not hold your money while you wait on a list. Transparency is key.

4. Our Waitlist Policy for Sold-Out Tours

If you want to join a tour date that is already sold out, you can contact us via KakaoTalk to be added to a waitlist. Here is how it works:

This system is fair and ensures no one's funds are tied up for an uncertain spot.

5. The Refund Process: From Waitlist to Cancellation

Our refund policy is strict but clear to ensure we can plan effectively for our small groups. This policy applies to all cancellations, whether you are a confirmed guest or someone taking a newly opened spot from the waitlist.

All refund percentages are based on the tour price you paid (e.g., $391), not including the on-site cash fees.

Days Before Departure Refund Amount
30 days or more 100% refund of tour payment.
20 to 29 days 20% refund of tour payment.
8 to 19 days 30% refund of tour payment.
3 to 7 days 50% refund of tour payment.
Within 2 days Refund is very difficult.

Process: To cancel, you must notify us via KakaoTalk or email. Refunds are processed back to your original payment method and can take 5-10 business days to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer.

KEY REMINDER Las Vegas Hotel Booking

For tours that include a free night in Las Vegas (like A/B course options), remember you are responsible for booking your own Strip hotel for that night. This cost is separate from your Parang Tour payment. If you cancel your tour, you must also handle canceling your hotel booking based on its own policy.

6. Your Best Path Forward: How to Book with Confidence

  1. Check Availability Early: Look at the departure dates listed on your desired tour page, like the Grand Canyon day tour from Vegas or the multi-day tour.
  2. Book Directly: When you see an open date that works, book it on our website to instantly secure your spot.
  3. Contact Us for Waitlists: If your preferred date is full, message us on KakaoTalk to join the free waitlist.
  4. Review the Inclusions/Exclusions: Before any tour, revisit the "포함 · 불포함" section so you know exactly what to pay on-site in cash.
  5. Ask Questions: If anything is unclear about capacity, payments, or refunds, ask us before you book. We're here to help.

Planning should be exciting, not stressful. By understanding how our small-group system works, you can make informed decisions and look forward to experiencing the West's great canyons with us.

For the most current availability and to discuss your specific travel dates, the best step is always to send us a message on KakaoTalk.

Frequently asked

If I pay for a tour online, am I paying a deposit or the full price?

You are paying the full discounted tour price at the time of booking. For example, the 2-night, 3-day Grand Canyon tour is $391. This secures your spot and covers all included services like transport, guide, one hotel night, specified meals, and water. Separate on-site cash fees for entrances and tips are not part of this online payment.

What happens if I try to book and the tour is already full?

Our booking system is real-time. If you can complete the checkout and get a confirmation email, you have a confirmed spot. In the extremely rare case of an overbooking, we will contact you immediately to offer a full refund or priority placement on the waitlist for another date.

How does the waitlist work for a sold-out tour date?

Contact us via KakaoTalk to be added to a free waitlist for a specific sold-out date. If a spot opens due to a cancellation, we contact people in the order they joined. You will then have a limited time to formally book and pay for the spot. No payment is required to simply be on the waitlist.

Can I get a full refund if I cancel my booking?

Yes, but only if you cancel 30 days or more before the tour departure date. Our refund policy is tiered: 100% refund at 30+ days, 20% at 20-29 days, 30% at 8-19 days, 50% at 3-7 days. Cancellations within 2 days are typically non-refundable. This policy applies to the tour price paid online.

I'm confused about the total cost. The website says $391 but also mentions $235 in fees. What's the total?

The total cost has two separate parts. 1) The **tour package** ($391) paid online to us. 2) The **on-site cash fees** ($235 total) paid to your guide for entrance passes and tips. These are not added together for one payment. The $391 is paid upfront to book. The $235 is paid in cash during the tour. Always refer to the 'Included/Excluded' section on the specific tour page for the latest breakdown.
